Best way to travel from Venlo Netherlands to Paris?

I’m going to be in Venlo in the Netherlands for business for a week in June. At the end of the week, on Friday (late afternoon / early evening), I wanted to travel to Paris to spend the weekend there with friends.
What’s the best way to get from Venlo to Paris?
I’ve looked at trains as one possibility, but it seems pretty confusing, with a few train changes, and I wouldn’t get in until 23:00 if I left at 17:00.
Would there be some combination of train or bus to get myself over to Brussells or Duesseldorf, and then take a flight from there to Paris?
Is there some route that I’m not thinking about that would be easier / better / cheaper?
I won’t be too pressed for time, but I also don’t want to get in real late at night to Paris since I’ve never visited and I really don’t know my way around (until I link up with my friends on Saturday).
Thanks!

We are planning an upcoming trip to France. While we’ll be spending most of our time in Paris, we are hoping to take one or two day-trips to other parts of France. One of the areas we would like to see are the Alps. How long does it take to get to the Alps by train? Would we have time to travel there, enjoy the scenery for an afternoon or so, and get back all in the same day? What city should we visit?
What is the best way to travel to London and Paris if you live south of Paris?

I’m a study abroad student, and I have two long weekends in May. For the first weekend I would like to tour London, and for the second weekend I would like to tour Paris. How do I book this trip? Do I travel by train? What train station do I want to go to? Where/When do I buy the tickets? I’m pretty much clueless when it comes to this.
Also how much would all of this cost? I live in Nantes.

I am planning to arrive in Paris by the Train from London via the English Channel. I wanted to know whether it is advisable to stay at the Sheraton Airport Hotel in Paris if I want to go sight-seeing to Eiffel Tower and Louvre Museum and the Bridge in Paris. Also, how long would it take to cover the whole of Paris (sight-seeing)? Is there any particular tour of Paris that I should be aware of? Please advise.
