How easy is it to travel from Paris Nord to St Marcel Station?

I am going to Paris for the very first time with my boyfriend for a long weekend next month. We are going by Eurostar and we are excited, We have not been away in ages. Has anyone been to Paris and how easy is it to travel from Paris Nord Station to St Marcel Station- or on the Metro in general? Anyone got any tips and advice for traveling around Paris, sightseeing etc. Any advice would be great!! Thanks guys :o)

Things to be aware of in paris?

We are going to paris for a week in october. When i was going thru the paris related questions in yahoo answers i found people cautioning about few places in paris like gare du nord not being a nicest place and late night safety. am going with my husband and we usually dont prefer to stay out beyond 9pm esp in a new place. do i need to be cautioned about certain places and things in paris before i go? please enlighten me with the details. thanks!

Im going to paris in a few days and staying with relatives for 2 weeks, and i was wondering if there are any great places to go to, or things to do there that you think is worth mentioning besides the laready popular stuff such as the eiffel tower.

music venues, festivals, record stores,bars, etc…?…I am going to Paris June 20th to June 25th…I assume no soccer leagues will still be going on then?…all divisions seasons are done by then correct?
